This client engaged Pinnacle Certification as a Private Certifier for a new fitout of an existing office in the Brisbane CBD.

The Structure:

The project consisted of two separate tenancies (260 square meters each).

How did Pinnacle Certification assist?

This project is required to comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) - a national set of guidelines for the design, construction and performance of buildings. The guidelines include but are not limited to assessing a building’s fire safety, directional signage and exits, plumbing, drainage systems and more.

During the design phase, the client sent us his preliminary plans. We take a common sense approach in all our building approvals to create valuable and safe outcomes for both our client and the general public.

For this project, we assisted the client by:

  • Conducting BCA and egress assessment

  • Inspecting the premises to identify any non-compliance with the BCA

  • Providing marked up building plans to the client to allow them to fulfil BCA requirements and get their project underway

Upon approval of the design, the builders kicked off the construction phase of the new office fitout.

Outcome:

We were able to assist our client to meet the Building Code of Australia requirements. We issued building approval to get the fitout underway.

Then upon completion of the construction phase, we completed a final inspection and issued a certificate of occupancy. We also lodged the Certificate of Occupancy to Brisbane City Council (as required under the Building Act 1975).

This client is now back to business in their new space!
